Hangry

I have this problem at night. I get online and somehow find pictures of delectable food. Look here for free looking. I read one time that thinking about eating food can actually stop you from doing so. But not with me.  Looking at food usually forces me into an unwanted Fourth Meal. (Thanks for coining that Taco Bell. That and what you like to call beef that is actually Taco Meat Filling masquerading as beef. And now you're getting sued. So sad.)

The other day it occurred to me that sometimes I get really hungry. My stomach starts trying to eat other things inside me. Then it starts to attack my brain and I get super angry. Hungry angry. Let's just call it hangry,  like my sister and I do.

In case you can't tell, I turn mean when I'm hungry.

So next time you're out and about and someone's not nice to you, maybe you should offer them a snack pack of Oreos. They might be hangry too.

Off to have a little fourth meal.

  1. I get like this a lot during the day, particularly while nursing b/c I am ALWAYS hungry but I try not to eat while Nomes is awake b/c she eats all my food, it's a real predicament

  2. While studying abroad in college my lovely bf (now hubby) made an interesting observation about me. When I am tired, hungry, or thirsty things I become difficult. When I am all three WATCH OUT!

I guess you could say I become thrangried...

  4. Sounds like you could have a gluten problem. http://www.drkalish.com/pdf/gluten_questionnaire.pdf

I used to get angry when I was hungry. My blood sugar would drop and I would lose it. I though I was hypoglycemic and that I must eat lots of small meals. Turns out I can't tolerate gluten and when I have it my body can't control my blood sugar. You might want to look further into this. 42% of American have a genetic disposition to be gluten intolerant. Sadly most low fact and packaged foods contain gluten and genetically mortified wheat contains 50% more gluten then wheat did naturally. With the over exposure of gluten more and more people are developing an intolerance for it.
    Crying babies...must go.
