Occupation: Mommy Blogger?

So, as a SAHM one frequent question I am never prepared to answer is "what do you do?" or in the same vein, filling in the occupation blank on paper forms. Sick.

I've heard of more clever women putting a list of all the different hats they wear as a SAHM. Here are a few hats I attempt to wear...
-cleaning lady
-nurse
-nanny
-home excecutive
-referee
-chef
-gardener
-laundress
-financial planner
-tutor
-social coordinator
-milk maid
-night-time nurse
-handy-woman
-interior decorator
-personal shopper
-event planner
-child development expert
-counselor

So naturally, when somone asks me, "what do you do?" I tell them either
a) what I used to do professionally
b) I say "nothing."
c) I stutter and say "oh I just stay home."

What the heck is wrong with me?

This is the hardest, most rewarding and humbling, least appreciated job I have ever done! And to top it all off I'm a volunteer that works major overtime each week and works unplanned nightshifts. The other day the thought actually crossed my mind, "maybe I should go back to work to get a break."

I guess I am still trying to figure out how to answer that question without feeling like a weirdo/ one-upper/lame-o. Anyway.

The good news I've realized in my life so far though, is that, sometimes the very things that are the most demanding and difficult have the most beauty and bring the most JOY. And I believe that this life does have very significant meaning and purpose and helps us grow into the people we were meant to be.

When I get overwhelmed I try to remember:
You only have to live one day, one hour, one minute, or even one second at a time. If you can make a good habit of doing your best one baby step at a time, you can experience true joy hundreds of time each day. Just remember to receive with a smile the best gift you have-the present.

Cow Appreciation Day!

We really appreciate cows in our family. Notice Gianna gnawing on her mask...

Dress like a cow today at Chick-fil-a and get a free non-cow meal!

It's fun people.

We did it at the mall and we looked like fools, but who's laughing now as we chow down on delicious free meals!

Dorky Mom Sayings

Here is a short list of dorky sayings I had no idea that I said until a loquacious two year old started spouting them back to me regularly.

first things first- What does that even mean and why the heck am I saying it all the time?

hey party people- Party people? Who are party people?

ok let's rock and roll- Really don't understand this one. Rock and roll? It's like an eighties saying or something. Majorly dorky.

are you gassy little baby? - I think this speaks for itself. We happen to have a smiley smelly newborn. Davy was talking to her baby in public saying this over and over....

I'm just really happy- I really am....just really happy and so is Davy.

Watch Davy talk below :)

Davy talking on the kitchen timer to everyone on Sesame Street

She cracks me up.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hope your Fourth of July was filled with as much fun as ours! So far we have seen 3 firework shows, 2 parades, 3 matching cousins, and the fun isn't over yet! Daddy learned how to use his clip on bike shoes, Davy practiced kicking in the pool, Gianna has been rolling over from back to front, and Mommy has been gathering cucumbers from the garden. What a nice weekend so far. :)
